The shoe company in Varberg is donated to charity

At New Year, Varberg residents Mats Nilsson and Marie Nilsson Peterzén handed over their shoe company to a newly formed foundation. The profit going forward will go to, among other things, research and education that promote, for example, culture, health and the environment.

In the clip above, Marie Nilsson Peterzén, one of the founders, talks about the decision. She also answers how the company’s own shoe manufacturing can affect the environment and human health.

Future investments

Should all profits go into the foundation, isn’t the company’s future at risk then?

– For Vagabond international as a company, there is no change at all. Every year an evaluation is made of which investments are needed in Vagabond in order to then decide what sum goes to the foundation, says Marie Nilsson Peterzén.
