Karin Mattsson chooses to quit as chairman of the Swedish Skiing Association, according to Expressen.
Karin Mattsson was elected chairman in 2018, and then became historic as the first woman in the post.
Now she chooses to drop out of the assignment, and tells us that a big factor in the decision is the financial aspect.
– This is in practice a non-profit mission. We have a small symbolic compensation, but it takes a lot of time. So I simply need to prioritize what I spend my time on. I will make a living, to put it bluntly, she tells Expressen.

Just a few months ago, Mattsson was elected to the FIS council, the highest decision-making council within the International Skiing and Snowboarding Federation.
– It is clear that it is not optimal timing. But you can’t plan how these periods relate to each other, she continues to the newspaper.
Mattsson has previously also been chairman of the Swedish Sports Confederation.
