Roger Rönnberg was furious after Frölunda’s loss.
Now SHL referee Mikael Nord responds after the huge criticism.
– All of us are insanely pissed off, he admits to GP.
The big meeting between Frölunda and Växjö was decided with an extension in Scandinavium on Thursday evening. There, Växjö was victorious and grabbed the bonus points and the Frölunda trainer Roger Rönnberg left in pure rage.
Rönnberg’s anger
Rönnberg was so angry that he left in the middle of TV4’s interview, see the video below.
– I’m really fucking annoyed, it shouldn’t happen like this. “Honestly,” he exclaimed, leaving the television camera.

The reason for the great anger was that Växjö had six players on the ice in connection with the decision. Now the SHL referee answers Mikael North after Rönnberg’s outburst and he is not happy after the match either…
– I understand that Roger Rönnberg is pissed off. I would have been just as angry myself. But what is not visible is how angry we are in here – because we are not on TV and talking about it, says the head judge to the local newspaper GP.
The judge’s response
Nord is also strongly critical of the fact that they, as a judging team, also miss Joel Persson’s elbow to the head on Max Friberg. So two situations that they worry about.
– We are annoyed that we do not get these two situations with us. We don’t want to come out of a game feeling like this, or have this feeling going into the dressing room. We’re not jumping and dancing in here now. We’re pretty pissed off. That we don’t get the slap on Friberg, that we don’t experience the goalkeeper change as far as it is. Everyone in there is madly pissed off at themselves and at the team, he says in the interview.

Växjö Lakers won the match against Frölunda 3-2 after extra time. Växjö is thus second in the series on 34 points and Frölunda is below the line in seventh place with 31 points in the extremely even SHL table.
