Adam Werner has double NHL games on his merit list.
Now the goalkeeper returns home to the SHL.
– It feels very exciting, he says.
Adam Werner has represented a number of different clubs in the Swedish league system. Among other things, he has played for Färjestad, which he left for games in the NHL after the 2018/19 season.
Returns to SHL
There, the 25-year-old gained confidence in two matches during his first year away in North America. But unfortunately it stayed there for the goalkeeper, who has played in the AHL the last two seasons.
That has been enough for Adam Werner, who is now returning home to Sweden and the SHL. On Monday, he was presented as Malmö Redhawks latest acquisition, and joins the squad immediately.
– I have followed Adam for a long time and kept track of him since he was 15 years old and was going to hockey high school. He is a tall and modern goalkeeper who has tested his wings on the other side of the Atlantic and in a fairly short time he has gained a great deal of experience, says sports director Björn Liljander in a press release.
“Feels really exciting”
Adam Werner had a very good season in Färjestad before he moved across the Atlantic. Now he is looking forward to being back in Sweden, and getting started again with the Skåne club.
– This feels very exciting and I think Malmö has something really interesting going on, says Werner.
Malmö Redhawks finished in twelfth place last season and missed the playoffs.
