The SHL bomb shakes up hockey Sweden – the successful player breaks the contract and now goes to the competitor

Here’s a signing that really stands out!
Today it became clear that the hit player Oskar Stål-Lyrenäs is breaking his three-year contract with Rögle.
And has instead signed for an SHL competitor…

On January 24, Rögle BK proudly announced that they had extended the contract for Oskar Stål-Lyrenäs with three more seasons. But now comes the big turn for the successful player and a real bomb hits hockey Sweden.

Ready for HV71

Because today it became clear that the 25-year-old has instead signed a three-year contract with competitor HV71 and that the contract with Rögle has been terminated with immediate effect. HV has published the signing coup on the official website and now presented the new acquisition.
“It’s nothing to brag about that there are fast pucks in hockey! That’s why we don’t have a movie, but instead a new acquisition! A warm welcome to HV71!”, they write in a post on social media.

The forward was Rögle’s second best scorer last season with 33 points in 46 games in the SHL. Now he is looking forward to a new adventure in Jönköping in what is one of the most unexpected transfers to the coming season.
– I am incredibly happy to have the chance to come to HV71. I hope to contribute with stable play all over the court, but above all in the offensive game where my strengths lie. It will also be great fun to play in front of a packed Husqvarna Garden as a HV71 player, says Stål-Lyrenäs in a press release.

51 SHL points

The 25-year-old from Umeå made his senior debut with Modo before returning home to Björklöven again and via Tingsryd and Mora he moved to Rögle in 2021 and had to make his debut in the SHL. 51 points in 94 games later, it is now time to move on in his career.
– A young and hungry forward who is sharp, not least in the offensive game. Oskar Stål-Lyrenäs has a strong season behind him and we are convinced that he has at least one more gear in him in the future, says the HV71 sports manager Kent “Nubben” Norberg in a statement.
