According to the latest data from the German Federal Statistical Office, German industrial orders fell by as much as 5.8 percent in August from July.

Reported about it among others, Bloomberg.

The decrease was steeper than the expected decrease of about 2 percent. The almost six percent drop in orders was the biggest monthly drop since January 2024.

The decrease is partly explained by the fact that in July German industry received large orders for planes, ships, trains and military equipment.

The decline in industrial orders suggests that the German economy is still showing no signs of the long-awaited recovery.

In the week that has started, there are other important announcements about the future of the German economy. On Tuesday, the latest figures for industrial production will be published, on Wednesday the “traffic light government” that is gaining ground in the country will publish its latest economic forecast.
