Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has requested premature lights in June.
In Serbia, the people have been demonstrating for months against a rutic corruption in the country. According to a local monitoring organization, up to 300,000 people gathered in the country’s capital Belgrade last Saturday. However, the country’s Ministry of the Interior estimates the number of participants in the demonstration as 107,000 people.
The protests started in Serbia when the roof of Novi Sadi’s train station collapsed last November. At that time, 15 people died in the accident.
The protesters associate an accident with corrupt officials in the country’s administration, who, among other things, direct the funds for public refurbishment in their own pockets.
The protesters have called in particular the resignation of President Vučić, who has dominated Serbia since 2014.
Vučić has said several times that he is not going to divorce.
