The sequel to the legendary horror series is being shot in Bavaria – but one thing will deeply divide the fans

The sequel to the legendary horror series is being shot

Video game adaptations are the most thankless of all film productions. Although millions of potential viewers are waving, their goodwill can immediately turn into the opposite. For some, the implementation goes too far, for others not far enough. The horror film Silent Hill and the sequel Silent Hill: Revelation, which are based on the legendary game series of the same name, are also controversial in this way. With Return to Silent Hill, part 3 will soon be filmed in Bavaria (!).

Horror sequel Return to Silent Hill comes from Part 1 director

A press release reveals that the horror film will soon be in Munich, Penzing, Nuremberg, Rossberg and around the Ammersee should be rotated. It is not known to what extent the Bavarian cultural sites find expression in the horror shocker.

On the other hand, it has been clear for some time who will be responsible for the sequel. With Christophe Gans (Pact of the Wolves), the maker of the first Silent Hill part is once again in the director’s chair. His return will split fans into two camps. Because while some consider the debut to be one of the best video game adaptations ever, others criticize an unimaginative plot and ridiculous dialogues.

When will Silent Hill 3 be in cinemas?

How the quality of the film turns out and how much it will divide the fans can unfortunately only be determined in some time. Given the early stage of production, the film will at the end of 2024 at the earliest come to the cinema.
