Video game adaptations are the most thankless of all film productions. Although millions of potential viewers are waving, their goodwill can immediately turn into the opposite. For some, the implementation goes too far, for others not far enough. The horror film Silent Hill and the sequel Silent Hill: Revelation, which are based on the legendary game series of the same name, are also controversial in this way. With Return to Silent Hill, part 3 will soon be filmed in Bavaria (!).

With Christophe Gans (Pact of the Wolves), the maker of the first Silent Hill part is once again in the director’s chair. His return will split fans into two camps. Because while some consider the debut to be one of the best video game adaptations ever, others criticize an unimaginative plot and ridiculous dialogues.
