Led by the United States, politicians in country after country want to stop or limit Tiktok, arguing that the app could become dangerous in the hands of a hostile state.
But the West also has a complicated relationship with China, the state that owns the app, where on the one hand they are antagonists and on the other hand partners when it comes to trade, among other things, says security expert Marcus Murray.
He points out that we don’t know exactly how the app could be used against us, but that there is reason to be cautious about the information that can be collected by the app.
