The second round of the Croatian presidential election will be held today | News in brief

The second round of the Croatian presidential election will take place today. Opposite are the sitting president of Croatia, the Social Democrats Zoran Milanovic and the conservative HDZ party Dragan Primorac.

The presidential elections held two weeks ago will continue into the second round, as Milanovic’s vote share was just under half. Primorac, on the other hand, received just under 20 percent of the votes at that time.

Milanovic is considered a clear early favorite for the elections. His victory would be a heavy blow to the HDZ party, which has been the country’s ruling party for years. The Social Democrats are in the opposition.
