The Umbrella Academy ends after 5 years with season 4
The superhero series launched on Netflix in 2019 as an adaptation of the comic book series of the same name by My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way. The absurd sci-fi action quickly blossomed into Mega success for Netflix and showrunner Steve Blackman, who added additional seasons over the last five years.
Despite solid numbers, the series was announced to end in 2022 with the fourth season, while the Umbrella Academy universe was to be continued in spin-offs instead. The series The Sparrow Academy was cancelled just a few weeks ago. The reason is allegations made by former crew members against Blackman, who is said to have behaved toxically behind the scenes on several occasions. Whether there is a future for the crazy superhero universe is still up in the air.

Season 4 of The Umbrella Academy is set to end with spectacular sci-fi action
In the final episodes, the Hargreeves siblings face the approaching apocalypse which is due to hit them in just 24 hours. But now they find themselves without their superpowers after landing in an alternate timeline. But it is precisely here that the solution to the problem may be found – and the salvation of humanity.
In season 4 there are a final reunion with the series’ regular cast, including Elliot Page as Victor, Tom Hopper as Luther, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison, David Castaneda as Diego, Aidan Gallagher as Number Five and Justin H. Min as Ben.
New to the cast is The Last of Us star Nick Offerman, who gets in the way of the siblings as Professor Gene Thibedeau. Comedian David Cross, known from Arrested Development, also joins the cast for the first time as shy businessman Sy Grossman.
