Quentin Tarantino’s are extremely gory. From this one could finally conclude that little on the screen can harm the cult director. At least it was different when I was a kid. At a young age, Tarantino’s mother apparently took him to a performance of Karel Reisz’s Isadora, a biographical drama about the life of dancer Isadora Duncan (Vanessa Redgrave). The film portrays in his final moments their tragically abrupt end during a car ride in 1927. Tarantino recalled speaking to Seth Meyers:

She drives in a convertible and wears this long scarf. [Isadora ist ausgelassen und] even has a glass of champagne in hand. And then the scarf gets caught in the axle of the wagon and strangles her.

Duncan’s bizarre death is historical fact. The sight frightened the later filmmaker immensely and, in his opinion, is his first disturbing cinema moment in the conversation. His mother eventually calmed him down. “[Sie] said, ‘Don’t worry, Quentin. I will never allow you to wear a long scarf in a convertible.’” Your credo has possibly given us one of the most exciting directors of our time.
