Bella Nilsson, CEO of the scandal-ridden waste company Think Pink, is now, in addition to environmental crimes, also suspected of financial crimes. She and the well-known Leif-Ivan Karlsson, who for a time was deputy CEO, are suspected of gross accounting offences.
Think Pink’s CEO, Bella Nilsson, has been served with suspicion of serious accounting violations within the framework of the investigations against Think Pink. The profile of Leif-Ivan Karlsson, who for a time was vice president of the company, is also a suspect in the case.
After three years of police investigation, it is still unclear where all the money the company earned went. Some of the answers may be found in another court case, where a 40-year-old woman is suspected of serious economic money laundering. According to the prosecutor, she has funneled five million kroner from Think Pink to a company in Malaga with incorrect invoices.
– She has deliberately participated in measures that can reasonably be assumed to have been taken with the aim of concealing that money or other property derives from crime, says the ecocrime prosecutor, Louise Helleday, about the suspected 40-year-old woman.
The woman is connected to a key person in Think Pink
The accused woman has a personal connection to a man who has a central role within Think Pink. The crackdown on Think Pink began with him being arrested at Arlanda with false ID documents.
– I have not charged that person. But certain things that that person did are important for my prosecution, says the ecocrime prosecutor. The investigation against the waste company, Think Pink about environmental crimes, where they are suspected of dumping and burying huge amounts of unsorted construction waste with the spread of environmental toxins as a result, now consists of 40,000 pages of preliminary investigation material.
The trial against the 40-year-old woman begins in February. Think Pink’s CEO is called as a witness but is not a suspect in the case.
In the investigations into environmental crimes and accounting crimes, a decision on charges against Bella Nilsson is expected shortly.
