The Sauron rumor about the trailer is wrong

After Amazon’s big fantasy project The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power received its first real series trailer, things should now be clearer. But far from it. The only thing that is certain is that thousands of years before the Ring Companions, the story revolves around Galadriel, Elrond and Isildur… as well as the Rise of Sauron. But as soon as it comes to the villain, there is currently confusion in many places … which we now want to clear up a bit.

Is Sauron really in the Lord of the Rings trailer?

While we know the villain Sauron from Frodo’s times, especially in black armor or as a flaming eye, Amazon’s fantasy series aims to bring the scourge of Middle-earth to us in human form to show: Sauron as a beautiful shapeshifter named Annatar.

After all, the new Lord of the Rings trailer finally confirms all speculation that Sauron will play a central role (minute 1:13 – “Have you heard of him, little one? Have you heard of Sauron?”). Even a musical Sauron theme already exists. But that doesn’t mean that he already has us revealed became.

Lord of the Rings Confusion: “Slim Shady Sauron”, Anson Boon and Bridie Sisson

Lord of the Rings fans rejoiced in the trailer for the return of Galadriel and the Palantír, as well as a Balrog reunion. The one that caused the most confusion Enter the androgynous evil figure with short hair and a white hood. Because many believed that they were seeing the “beautiful Sauron” for the first time in the spark-breathing figure (and christened him “Slim Shady Sauron” in the best Eminem manner).

Someone linked this to the unconfirmed rumor that Anson Boon could play Sauron in the Lord of the Rings series. And so one and one were wrongly added to Sauron. For in truth is the white figure neither Sauron nor Anson Boon. Instead, the actress confirmed Bridie Sisson her appearance now via Instagram. The assumption that they die Follower of an evil cult (worshiping Sauron’s evil master Melkor/Morgoth) or being a direct henchman of Sauron is more obvious. Twitter user Mystic even claims the trailer features two different “fake Saurons”: Bridie Sisson and Robert Nairne.

As a master manipulator, Sauron could hardly have engineered this comedy of mistaken identity better: So We Stay (along with the well-known series characters) further in the dark about Sauron’s identity. If the Lord of the Rings trailer doesn’t even show us the face of the Season 1 antagonist, the evil elf Adar (Joseph Mawle), it’s unlikely to reveal the big villain’s trump card just yet. Sauron might even be absent from season 1 altogether, or only revealingly come on the scene in the season finale.

What role will Sauron play in the Lord of the Rings series?

“Evil does not sleep, it waits”says the Lord of the Rings trailer and so we have yet to meet wait until the first Sauron meeting. With the statement “He has not one name, but many” makes it clear to Amazon that the enjoyable guesswork not only affects the character of the Meteorite Man, but also Sauron. We should speculate and on the dark twist be as unconscious as possible.

Lord of the Rings Series: Tainted Elf Adar (Joseph Mawle)

If The Rings of Power us as a series with a 5 season plan wants to show the rise of the ultimate villain, this should end up in an epic series finale with victory over Sauron. But until then, we follow boys who fall into their hands with dangerous swords, and elves who warn in vain of a great danger. “Many lies have been told you from Middle-earth”, a voice informs us at the very end of the trailer. It could be Sauron’s voice or that of Adar mentioned earlier. But she doesn’t reveal whether the Lord of the Rings trailer just spreads a new lie into the world.
