With its large spaces and luxurious stands cared for down to the smallest detail, the Salone del Mobile is the projection of an industry, that ofMade in Italy furniturewhich continues to grow after having brilliantly overcome the crisis period of the pandemic, and which is returning to being aggressive and competitive on important markets such as that of United Arab Emirates, of the Canada and above all of United States, where national industry grows slowly but inexorably, going from 2% in 2012 to 2.8% in 2022, conquering a hard-fought seventh place.
The main protagonists of the great growth in exports are located in the area of Brianza, Of Treviso and of Pordenone, but the companies of the Noon. Indeed, the furniture industry in Italy boasts 16,000 companies distributed throughout the territory, with a workforce of approximately 125,000 employees, equal to almost 3.5% of the entire manufacturing sector. Despite the uncertainties related to the period, especially in the energy sector where the strategic investments in terms of efficiency they have become indispensable, Italy confirms itself in 2022 as the leading European furniture manufacturer, maintaining the primacy taken from Germany in 2021. The use of eco-sustainable and 100% recycled materials is also growing.
There responsibility environmental, economic and social is a priority not only for companies, but also the Salone del Mobile 2023, which has been concerned with the impact that building temporary spaces can have, thus expanding its guidelines for sustainable arrangements, involving suppliers of recycled and recyclable materials, and adhering to the Global Compact from the United Nations, the world’s largest business sustainability initiative.
