According to legend, the Saint Jacques Towerlocated at the corner of rue de Rivoli and boulevard de Sébastopol in Paris, would have been a starting point for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. In the Middle Ages, it was the church of the butchers’ corporation. At the bottom of this building, sits a statue of Blaise Pascal. There he would have carried out scientific experiments on gravity and atmospheric pressure.
