The safest cars right now according to the experts

Every year, Euro NCAP conducts crash tests to determine how safe new car models are in the event of an accident.

Now the German car owners association has ADAC compiled a list of the safest cars on the market right now, based on the tests carried out by Euro NCAP in 2024.

Safest cars in 2024

In total, Euro NCAP tested 38 cars in 2024, of which 27 received the highest rating of five stars.

This year’s tests are more stringent in terms of protection for pedestrians and cyclists, and the tests for both the passive and the active safety systems have become tougher.

The car with the highest overall rating, with 89 points out of a possible 100, was the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which received special praise for its assistance systems.

In second place we find the Chinese upstart Zeeker X. The car shares a platform with the new Volvo EX30, and is also developed in Gothenburg.

In third place we find the new Audi Q6 e-tron, which was the car with the highest score in the child safety category.
