UEFA has announced the referees who will lead the second leg of the Europa League round of 32; the Russian Karasev will be in charge of Naples-Barcelona, the Englishman Taylor of Real Sociedad-Leipzig, the Turkish Meler of Betis-Zenit and the Frenchman Letexier of Dinamo Zagreb-Seville.
There will be three Spanish referees in these return matches: Carlos del Cerro Grande will be in charge of refereeing Olympiacos-Atalanta (1-2) in the first leg. José María Sánchez will direct the Braga-Sheriff (0-2 in the first leg). And Antonio Mateu Lahoz the Rangers-Dortmund (4-2).
Sergei Karasev, who will be assisted by his compatriots Igor Demeshko and Aleksei Lunev, already coached the azulgranas on November 23 in the Champions League, in the group stage match against Benfica (0-0).
The fourth referee for Naples-Barcelona (1-1 in the first leg) will be Kirill Levnikov, while the Dutchman Pol van Boekel will be in charge of the VAR and his assistant will be his compatriot Dennis Higler.
Anthony Taylor, who will be assisted by his compatriots Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn, led the Atalanta-Villarreal in the Champions League (2-3) in their group stage.
The fourth referee for Real Sociedad-Leipzig (2-2 in the first leg) will be Peter Bankes; in the VAR will be Paul Tierney and Darren England.
François Letexier, who will be assisted by his compatriots Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni, has officiated three Champions League games this season, all with home wins.
The fourth referee for Dinamo Zagreb-Sevilla (1-3 in the first leg) will be Jérémy Stinat while Jérôme Brisard and Delajod Willy will be in charge of the VAR.
Halil Umut Meler, aided by his compatriots Mustafa Eyisoy and Ibrahim Çaglar Uyarcan, has officiated two Champions League matches and one Europa League match this season.
The fourth referee for Betis-Zenit (3-2 in the first leg) will be Arda KardeYler, while the Italian Paolo Valeri and the Turkish Abdulkadir Bitigen will be in the VAR.
The German Deniz Aytekin will be in charge of Lazio-Porto (1-2 in the first leg).
