The Russian attack on the Swedish national skiing team – now goes to a hard attack after the new decision: “They are not men”

Swedish skaters are happy that Russian and Belarusian citizens are stopped from the World Cup.
Then the Russian coach Yuri Borodavko rages.
– It seems that the Vikings in Scandinavia have disappeared, he tells RIA Novosti.

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russian athletes have been banned from the majority of competitions, sporting events and championships. So also Belarusian citizens, since Belarus has given support to Russia after the invasion.

Russians are stopped

Russian and Belarusian citizens have, among other things, been suspended from the cross-country skiing world. For the past year and a half, they have not been allowed to participate in, for example, the WC in Planica or the World Cup. Before the coming ski season, it was up to FIS to decide whether the ban would also apply this season.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the suspension will also be extended over the 2023/2024 World Cup. Something the Swedish cross-country skiers rejoice over. Several Swedes have been clear in their positions regarding Russian skaters. At the front of the line has Lynn Svahn and Maja Dahlqvist gone, as previously said that they are ready to boycott competitions if Russians are allowed to participate. But also other riders who Calle Halfvarsson and William Poromaa has taken a stand against it.

Borodavko sawing

This now causes the Russian coach Yuri Borodavko to see red and direct great criticism at the Swedish men.
– It seems that the Vikings in Scandinavia have disappeared. There is no masculinity left, I see absolutely no men there, he told the Russian state-owned RIA Novosti news agency.

The former doping-suspended coach claims that the Swedish skaters are happy about the announcement on sporting grounds.
– For me, these statements are not new, they have always been behind our Russian skaters. The exclusion of us is very good for them. Now they are five, six positions further ahead. I think it is that they simply cannot assert themselves, says Borodavko.
