After almost 10 years, Ti West has finally made another horror film with X. The director of exciting insider tips like The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers delves into the late 70s with his new work, where the planned porn shoot brutally escalated on a remote farm property.

X is an incredibly stylish and brutal celebration for horror fans
For his new horror film, Ti West took his cue from great genre classics such as Texas Blood Court. But his work is not just a series of quotes, but an idiosyncratic mix of casual porn set atmosphere à la Boogie Nights and brutal horror, which the director, as usual, builds up very slowly and carefully.

In addition to the cast with Mia Goth in a special double role (which you would never recognize without prior knowledge), X also develops into a bloody genre firework thanks to playful camera tricks and shots. With mostly handmade splatter effects, Ti West transforms his work into one terrific mix of fun and disgust, in which there is still time for bizarrely touching nuances. Horror fans shouldn’t miss this film.
