Dallas defeated Colorado 4–1, and now leads the playoff series with a 2–1 match win.

The Dallas Stars celebrated their second consecutive victory in the NHL playoffs after defeating the Colorado Avalanche 4–1. The Stars now lead the series 2–1.

– I don’t think I’ve ever seen a perfect away game, but this was at least close to it, Stars coach Peter DeBoer said after the game, according to The Denver Post.

The first set was played until the second to last minute of the game, until Dallas’ rookie striker Logan Stankoven shot the away team into the lead. For the 21-year-old, the first playoff hit of his career. The passer in the goal is a Finnish defender Miro Heiskanen.

Colorado’s Finnish star Mikko Rantanen tied the match at 1-1 midway through the second period.

Before Rantanen’s goal Nathan MacKinnon strong preliminary work, when the Canadian star first worked himself into the goal post, after which it was an easy job for Rantanen to scrape the puck near the goal line by Jake Oettinger to guard the Dallas goal.

The Finnish striker has now scored a total of 99 goals in 77 career playoff matches.

Tyler Seguin shot at the end of the second period to give Dallas a 2–1 lead Yevgeny Dadonov of high-quality preliminary work.

In the final set, Seguin scored for the second time, taking the away team to a two-goal run away.

Like in the previous games, Colorado did not narrow anymore and Dallas’ Logan Stankoven shot the final score of the match 4–1 into an empty net.

The powder for the rookie attacker was dry in the match, as the young Canadian shot only three times in the match, but still scored two goals. Stankoven got a good 12 minutes of playing time.

After the match, Stankoven said in an interview with TNT that he carries the nickname “Stank” (Finnish for slacking). However, the team’s coach DeBoer had informed the newcomer that he did not want a shark, which had led to the fact that he has started calling Stankoven “Tank” (tank in Finnish).

With his goals, Stankoven, Dallas’ second-round selection, joined the ranks of four other rookies who have scored at least two playoff goals in the same game in their first season with Dallas. Earlier in the history of the club, they have been able to do this Joel Kiviranta, Roope Hintz, Niko Kapanen mixed Denis Gurianov.

Avalanche forward Valery Nichushkin went scoreless for the first time in this spring’s playoffs. By scoring a goal, he would have become the third player in NHL history to score in eight straight playoff games.
