After the end of the DCEU and the farewell to Henry Cavill as Man of Steel, David Corenswet is now slipping into the iconic blue and red costume for Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. On Thursday we were finally presented with the first teaser trailer for Superman, which shows the hero and his colleagues and opponents. This also includes The Rookie star Nathan Fillion – with an unexpected head of hair.
The Rookie star Nathan Fillion returns to a familiar role in Superman
As was announced months ago, Nathan Fillion will take on the role of Superman Guy Gardnerone of the many heroes who as Green Lanterns appear in the DC Universe. This is not an unfamiliar role for Fillion, as he has already lent his voice to the Green Lanterns in numerous DC animated films – but at that time especially the character Hal Jordan. Now he appears on the big screen as Green Lantern and is hardly recognizable.
The Superman trailer only shows us a brief moment of Fillion, but it is etched in our minds because of The Rookie star’s special hairstyle. This is what the actor is wearing here a blonde pot cutas he fires green beams from his fist. You can find the memorable moment in the trailer at around minute 1:43.
Fillion revealed to Collider in April this year that he particularly enjoyed playing Guy Gardner:
Guy Gardner is 90 percent full of flaws and he doesn’t care. That’s one of his quirks. I think there’s a lot of freedom in playing it. For a guy who likes playing quirks and people with quirks, Guy Gardner is a gold mine. When is Superman coming to the cinema with The Rookie star Nathan Fillion?
Is his hairstyle also one of these quirks? We’ll find out by at the latest July 10, 2025when Superman flies into German cinemas.
