Semi-good news for The Rookie fans: Via TVLine we finally get the start date for the long-awaited 7th season of the rookie cop series with audience favorite Nathan Fillion as the aging young cop. Accordingly, it should be on Tuesday, December January 7, 2025 continue with new episodes.
The only catch: There is not yet a fixed date for the German premiere of the new season. But the information about the US launch is still not entirely uninformative.
The US release for the 7th season of The Rookie can provide information about the German start
If we look at the last six seasons of The Rookie, it took an average of seven months after the US premiere on ABC until the German premiere of the new episodes. However, in recent years the local premiere home has changed from Fox Channel to Disney+ and to the current broadcast home. Our best guess is that the 7th season in early summer 2025 on Sky/WOW starts.
The Rookie episodes usually come to German free TV some time later via ZDFneo. The fifth season of the series was last seen there.
This is what The Rookie fans can expect in Season 7
The 7th season of The Rookie should be more episodic again and run without breaks. The fans are particularly interested in whether the series dream couple Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Tim Bradford (Eric Winter) aka Chenford get back together after their breakup. Officer Aaron Thorsen is no longer on board following actor Tru Valentino’s shock exit. There are two new additions to the cast, Miles (Deric Augustine) and Seth (Patrick Kelehe).
While all six seasons are available on Sky/WOW, you can also stream the first four on RTL+ and Netflix. There are five available on Disney+ to date.
