The sum surpasses, among other things, the 40 million dollars that Robert Downey Jr. received for his participation in “Captain America: civil war” and thus becomes the highest fee for an individual actor in a film of all time.
The plot of “Red one” is still a secret, but Johnson will play the main role – commander Callum Drift – and the film will be directed by Jake Kasdan, who, among other things, is behind the two Jumanji films in which Johnson participated.
The announcement comes at the same time that the trade union Sag-Aftra, which represents 160,000 actors, broadcast media journalists, presenters, dancers, DJs and stunt performers, went on strike to get through demands that the fees be adjusted to the new streaming landscape.
The screenwriters in the Writers Guild of America (WGA) have also been on strike since May 2 and have similar demands on the big Hollywood giants.
