The roads here are the worst in the country – protest in Norrbotten

The cooperative organization Transport företagen has concluded that 15.1 percent of the state roads in Norrbotten are in very poor condition. This means that the county has the country’s fourth worst roads. It is worst in Jämtland County – see the full list below.

According to Transportföretagen, the maintenance debt on the roads is estimated to increase from today’s 13.2 billion to 42 billion kroner in 2032 unless additional money is added.

“Worse standard of living”

– If we continue with the same allocation as so far, almost 40 percent of the state roads in Norrbotten will be in very poor condition in 2032, the analysis shows, says Tina Thorsell.

In addition to traffic safety, Tina Thorsell further emphasizes:

– In the long run, worse roads will lead to lower speeds and a lower standard of living in the countryside as it takes longer to get there. Therefore, the government must now invest in and maintain the infrastructure in Norrbotten.
