According to NRK, an extensive search has been made in the avalanche area for those who were left under the avalanche. However, the authorities have not found any signs that anyone was lost in the avalanche.

Hammerfest has been in isolation since Tuesday. They are trying to open the road on Thursday.

This is already the FIFTH time this year that the road leading to Hammerfest has been cut off due to an avalanche.

In January, the ambulance got stuck behind an avalanche. In the end, the patients and the ambulance personnel were taken away by helicopter. They had to wait about 12 hours for the next ride. Hammerfest has an emergency hospital for the Eastern Finnmark region.

According to NRK, the residents of the area are worried about the impact of frequent avalanches and broken roads on safety.
