“The Rig” is a Scottish science fiction series created by David Macpherson, the new season of which was released on January 2, 2025 on Prime Video.
Two years after the broadcast of its first season and its final cliffhanger, the series The Rig is back on Prime Video. While the beginning of the series focused on an oil rig in the North Sea becoming shrouded in a mysterious and disturbing fog, season 2 follows the crew after they are airlifted to a new secret facility.

What is the plot of The Rig ?
The Rig follows the crew of the Kinloch Bravo oil rig in their fight for survival after a strange fog cuts off all communication with land. In season two, the survivors of the Kinloch Bravo are airlifted to a secret new offshore installation called Stac, nestled deep in the Arctic Circle. As they struggle to recover from the ordeals they have endured, the crew must now face new threats from the depths of the ocean…
