Anyone who wants to try eating larvae can now do so at the town hall in Södertälje. P4 Stockholm reports that the restaurant has tested serving grubs as part of the mince in tacos. It’s all part of the municipality’s work to help local companies that want to invest in sustainable food.

Sara Seing says that the ingredient is only a test and that larvae as food are not yet on the market. But she is still positive about using caterpillars as a sustainable food alternative.

– At the moment, we won’t do it, but maybe when people have got it into their culture and can accept insects, then it will be possible. But not at the moment, she tells P4 Stockholm.
