The new police series of Netflix, which describes an investigation in the heart of the White House, was released on March 20, 2025.

This means that the new series of his company for the streaming platform is expected.

During a state dinner, organized by the American president, the bailiff of the house was found dead. To unravel the mystery of this death, the police called on Cordelia Cupp, an investigator with singular methods known for having already resolved an impossible crime.
In the casting, Netflix subscribers will recognize several known faces: Uzo Aduba (Orange is the new black) embodies the investigator alongside Randall Park (Always be my maybe). Within the White House, Giancarlo Esposito (breaking Bad) or Susan Kelechi Watson (This is us) lead dance to luxury guests, such as Kylie Minogue or Julian McMahon (Charmed, Nip/Tuck). The series is made up of eight episodes, about fifty minutes each.
Our criticism of The residence
The series of Paul Williams Davies, who adapts Kate Andersen Bower’s book, assumes her affiliation with With knives drawn, Only Murders in the Building Or The Afterparty. We find the codes of whodunit: an investigator with unconventional methods and confusing character (she is obsessed with birds), caricatured characters embodied by stars, enigmas nested in each other, a societal criticism … Fans of the genre will find all the codes, multiplied by a thousand.
The residence is a giant and titanic cluedo: 132 pieces, 157 suspects and two temporalities. Netflix subscribers follow the survey on the day of discovery of the corpse, and that carried out by senators on the way in which the investigations were made, a few months later. This is his interest on paper, but also his big defect in viewing: its magnitude. It shouts, it stops, it contradicts every second with a shot reaction and untimely flashbacks. With this gallery of colorful characters, its constant round trips between past and present, an investigation which sometimes does there and an epileptic assembly to maintain the rhythm and the attention of the public, IIt is easy to get lost in the face of the mass of information. Difficult to stay focused on the investigation at times.
The residence would have won to be simpler and tightened, both in its substance and in its form. It is also in the moments when the series slows down the rhythm (at the start of episode 4, when Cordelia Cupp returns to her first investigation for example) that she wins in breath and intensity. However, it would be wrong to say that the series has no interest. The residence There remains an effective entertainment that we take pleasure in watching. Its main asset remains humor, with a comic of rehearsal that works wonderfully. What is certain is that we don’t have time to get bored!
