Liquid fillers for breast or butt augmentation should be banned. That’s what one of the leading researchers on the preparation now says, after Kalla fakta’s disclosure last week. He describes it as a ticking bomb in the body. In the 1980s, a liquid filler preparation for breast augmentation was launched in Ukraine, then the Soviet Union. The product became popular because it was cheap and could be injected without anesthesia. The material itself; According to an analysis in Poland, polyacrylamide gel, PAAG, is identical to Los Deline, the preparation that injured several women here in Sweden. Dmytro Unukovych was a surgeon at a university hospital in Kiev in the early 2000s and had patients who had suffered serious chest injuries from the injections. 20 years later, he has received new patients here in Sweden and he wants to see the product stopped. – It must be forbidden to inject free biomaterials into the chest, period. A biomaterial is a biological or synthetic substance that can be used to replace body tissue or organs, such as a filler. Cold facts told last week about Johanna Stensland, who suffered serious injuries from her breast augmentation. Another ten Swedish women have reported severe side effects after injections with Los Deline. Among other things, they have had infections and lumps in their breasts, the material has moved in the body and in one case penetrated the lungs. Banned in several countries In several countries the preparation is banned, but despite doctors sounding the alarm it has been allowed in Sweden. Now it is temporarily stopped, after the CE marking was temporarily withdrawn by the Turkish company that issued the certificate. Los Deline is now being investigated by the Swedish Medicines Agency. Dmytro Unukovych has done several scientific studies on women who have been injected with fillers in their breasts. In his studies, it turns out that it takes an average of six years before the damage occurs. – There is something that happens to the structure of the gel over the years, it changes, deforms and starts to migrate, says Dmytro Unukovych and explains that it may be due to water molecules in the gel starting to exchange water molecules with the body. The symptoms may come later – The material is like a ticking bomb. Some patients have no symptoms, but they may come on later. In Sweden, several hundred women have been injected with the aim of getting bigger breasts or buttocks. The manufacturer claims that the formula in Los Deline is different from the one used in Ukraine, but according to Dmytro Unukovych, it doesn’t matter. – We have good evidence and a scientific basis for banning all free injections of biomaterial into the breasts. It leads to serious complications and we must act so that healthy, young individuals are not affected.
