The rescue dog Killian receives an honorary award

Rescue dog Killian found 18 people alive after the severe earthquake in Turkey earlier this year. Together with master Kiril Hristov, he was also recently in earthquake-stricken Morocco on a mission. For those efforts, he is now rewarded with the Swedish Kennel Club’s honorary award.

However, the golden retriever himself was not present to receive the award at the Stockholm dog fair on Saturday because he is in home quarantine after the trip to Morocco.

Killian is trained as a rescue dog at the Swedish Working Dog Club and has also completed the Swedish Agency for Community Protection and Preparedness course to be part of the national rescue dog force.

Nowadays, Killian is part of a rescue team for the organization Hasene Sweden and they will share the prize money of SEK 10,000 with the rescue team, says Kiril Hristov in a press release from the Swedish Kennel Club.
