According to a recent report, the ice hockey association’s reputation has collapsed the most. The Paralympic Committee and the Floorball Association enjoy a good reputation among Finnish sports organizations.

The reputations of Finnish sports federations are declining, says the Trust&Reputation study conducted by T-Media. The largest decrease in the study was measured for the reputation of the Ice Hockey Association. Among the sports organizations, the Paralympic Committee currently enjoys the best reputation, another famous organization is the Floorball Association.
In a survey carried out using an electronic questionnaire in September, the reputation of eight Finnish sports organizations and the trust that citizens show in them through their activities were investigated among Finns.
Among organizations serving the entire sports sector, the Paralympic Committee received a reputation rating of 3.57, the Finnish Sports Ethics Center Suek 3.29 and the Olympic Committee 3.01 on the five-point scale of the study. Like last year, the most reputable of the sports associations is the Floorball Association (3.50). The rating for the Football Association is 3.48, for the Gymnastics Association 3.28 and for the Finnish Sports Association 3.21. Everyone has a decrease from last year’s result.
The reputation of the ice hockey association was damaged by the sport’s ethical problems
The Ice Hockey Association’s reading decreased from last year’s 3.44 to a result of 3.26.
– The ice hockey association’s reputation result reflects the ethical problems related to the sport. The respondents of our survey feel that the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation should change its operating culture ethically and responsibly to be more sustainable. A healthier and safer sport culture is also required from the Gymnastics Federation (3.28), T-Media’s senior expert in charge of the study Nina Laakso states in the announcement.
In the case of sports associations, the workplace as a part of reputation emerges as the most influential factor in the conditions of operation.
– It is also good to consider good employment as a broader socially responsible factor. Young people run children’s sports schools or act as game instructors. Thus, sports organizations such as local clubs are often the first employers of young enthusiasts.
The reputation of the Olympic Committee, which was the least successful in the study, rose from last year.
– The rise in reputation to a moderate level is due to the organization’s stabilized situation, with the new management, the organization has avoided scandals, says Laakso.
A total of 2,993 Finns participated in the study. The statistical margin of error for the entire material is at most approximately 1.79 percentage points in each direction.
