Mika Zibanejad is, as usual, at the center of events when the New York Rangers play. The Swede leads the internal points league after eleven games played in this year’s playoffs, with five goals and a total of 14 points, and scored an important goal last night when Rangers equalized the series against Carolina to 2-2.

Rangers were in a 0-2 deficit in the series, but after two straight wins, it is now completely even before the end, and should Rangers move on, a conference final awaits, which not many had predicted during the season. But you have Mika Zibanejad to thank for that, as he is always behind a lot in Rangers’ offensive.

But it was not just the goal that made fans talk about Zibanejad after tonight’s match. A completely different situation – a much more strange one – has been widely spread on social media. Zibanejad got the club knocked out of his hands in the offensive zone, and when it happens, it is common to either go and change, or that some teammate or materialist in the booth is quick to stick a new club out on the ice.

But Mika Zibanejad did something completely unexpected. He really wanted to stay on the ice, so a change was absolutely out of the question. And no one on the bench was quick enough to perceive what was happening. Zibanejad’s solution was thus to jump into the booth, look for his club – and then right out on the ice again.

The supporters also react with joy. Partly because it indicates a real winning mentality from Zibanejad, who immediately just wants to go out on the ice and drive again – but everyone also thinks it looks extremely entertaining.
