NCSoft’s MMORPG Throne and Liberty has been eagerly awaited by many and should be out soon. However, the release has now been pushed back, as a Korean news site announced.
When was the release originally planned? Actually, Throne and Liberty should appear in the first half of 2023, May was planned.

The information about the postponement comes from the Korean website mtn.co.kr. On April 20, 2023 there was an exclusive announcement that the release of the MMORPG was being postponed.
When is the new release date? The new date for the MMORPG is planned for October 2023. However, this month is not fixed yet, but can also change. In May 2023, closed beta testing will take place in Korea and North America instead of the release.

What is the reason for the postponement? According to the Korean site m-ddaily-co-kr, there have already been considerations to push back the release date of the Throne and Liberty game. The reason for this:
Diablo 4, coming June 6th. It was feared that the two release dates would compete. In addition, Final Fantasy 16 will also be released on June 22nd exclusively for Playstation 5. Therefore, a postponement was considered.
The game was about to be released in 2017
This is remarkable: A few years ago, “Throne and Liberty”, then still called “Lineage Eternal”, was about to be released, but was then withdrawn and revised again: Development was switched to Unreal Engine 4.
Even then, the game was obviously postponed because of another game: The mobile game LineageM earned NCSoft so much money that there was no longer any hurry to release Lineage Eternal.
In fact, the more recent article also states: “Originally, an official May release was likely, but given the synergies of the collaboration with Amazon and the existence of competing works releasing around the same time as ‘Diablo 4’, the Release schedule confirmed”.
