Rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2, or rather the next Nintendo console, there are a lot of them, we don’t tell you anything. So much so that it is difficult today to take even the slightest rumor seriously. However, a press release from CES 2024 of Las Vegas from the company Ai Shark (formerly known as GameShark) could well give us more concrete clues. Indeed, Ai Shark took advantage of CES 2024 in Las Vegas to announce the return of the GameShark brand and that it will be relaunched in September 2024. A release window which, according to the company, “must coincide with the release of Nintendo Switch 2”.
As a reminder, GameShark was a brand known for creating various devices to use cheat codes. With this desire for renewal and to change its name, Ai Shark will use AI to improve its software and thus better help “players improve their gameplay over time”. Ai Shark clarifies that its software was not designed to be a cheating tool, but rather that it “focuses on helping individuals improve their gameplay over time”. The press release also indicates that the target audience is casual players. Todd Hays, founder of Ai Shark, says that “Altec Lansing is their first peripheral licensing partner, and will help them capture a significant share of the $2.5 billion video gaming headset market. This marks the start of a series of AI technology partnerships Gaming that will improve the gaming ecosystem for gamers globally.”
At this point, Nintendo has obviously stayed away from these rumors which they have not commented on, but according to Digital Trends and Jason Schreier (from Bloomberg), Altec Lansing’s statements are in reality only assumptions made on the basis of internal conversations in the industry, and in no way information that would have been accidentally leaked. In any case, we will have to wait for an official statement from Nintendo to find out for sure. Until then, this is just speculation.
