The rare images: The tribe appears after 100 years – fleeing loggers

According to Survival International, the Mascho Piro tribe is said to consist of approximately 750 people. Now the tribe, which actually lives deep in the forest, has been forced to move due to loggers encroaching on their territory.

Deforestation

In pictures, filmed by Survival International, you can see about ten people who made it to the shore near the village of Monte Salvado.

Despite the tribe’s right to their territory, the Peruvian government has allowed several logging companies to clear forests on their land – in violation of international law.

– The Peruvian government must take action and leave the tribe alone. It is quite obvious from the pictures we see that they can handle themselves, feel good and have the right not to be disturbed, says Mazower.

Over 100 octane-beat strains

Survival International estimates that there are over 100 uncontacted tribes in the world and most are in the Amazon. According to Mazower, the various tribes are doing well on their own and would like to be left alone. However, it is when they are disturbed by the outside world that they end up in danger.

– They rarely want to have any contact with the outside world because it puts their survival at risk.
