During Monday, heavy rain broke out which, among other things, led to several Mellerud residents having their basements flooded. Now the emergency services are preparing for even more storm and rain accidents tomorrow.
– We expect 100 mm of rain to fall tomorrow, so you should probably stay inside if you can, he says.
The forecast shows that it will be more windy on Tuesday and Bo Andersson explains that there is therefore a risk of flying objects.
– There is a risk that various structures, branches or garden furniture will blow away, he says.
Traffic is affected
During Monday, several trains between Mellerud and Bengtsfors, as well as on the Kinnekullebanan, were cancelled. Trains on the Kinnekullebanan are canceled until Wednesday between Håkantorp and Gårdsjö.
– Many stations are affected, says Karina Kjellgren, disruption coordinator at Västtrafik.
There is still no forecast for when the trains can start running again. Travelers who will be traveling by car are advised to keep an eye on the weather apps.
