The Easter weekend promises to be rainy and stormy for a large part of France. But a few departments should escape the massacre…
This weekend of March 30 heralds moments of family reunion with the Easter festivities. But it is very likely that the egg hunt will take place in the rain this year. The Weather Channel announces “disturbed” weather for this week of March 25 with “several rainy waves and fairly strong winds.” The site indicates that no “region escapes rain, showers and wind for the end of March”. In terms of temperatures, the Weather Channel is forecasting a certain mildness from Friday across the country, despite the tenacity of the humid weather.
For this Easter weekend The Weather Channel therefore strongly advises vacationers to equip themselves with raincoats and umbrellas. The site predicts “unstable weather” marked by “the influence of the Atlantic depression” underway this week. This Saturday, March 30, “showers will still be numerous, occasionally stormy as far as the Mediterranean”, as indicated by the Weather Channel. Saturday morning, only Brittany, the Manche department and the Grand-Est will be spared from the rain. A trend which, unfortunately for these territories, is not expected to last very long.
The site is indeed forecasting rain in Brest on Saturday afternoon, as well as in Champagne-Ardenne with thunderstorms in Charleville-Mézières. Showers are also forecast from Ile-de-France to Occitanie via the Centre-Val de Loire region to Lyon. The Atlantic coast, from Nantes to Biarritz, should avoid showers, but with thunderstorms expected in La Rochelle. Stormy weather is also expected in Nice, Marseille and Montélimar.
The only survivors of the massacre: the two departments of Corsica should avoid the rain and will even have sunshine! The departments of Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Alpes maritimes should also be relatively spared. For temperatures on March 30, they will be at their lowest in the morning at 7°C as in Strasbourg, Rouen, Rennes and Bordeaux and will rise to 21°C in Ajaccio in the afternoon. The Weather Channel predicts 12°C in Paris, Rouen, Lille and Orléans. 14°C in Rennes, Troyes and Toulouse, and 17°C in Strasbourg, Lyon and Nice.
Sunday March 31 will be marked by fog in the morning over the northern half of France and in Nice. All the northern departments will then be lucky to be dry. The rain is expected to concentrate in the center and south of the country. As indicated Meteo France, showers are expected from Limoges to Perpignan via Bordeaux and Biarritz to Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Nice. The north should be under the clouds.
Temperature-wise, this Sunday promises to be milder than Saturday. The Weather Channel predicts 16°C in Paris, Lille, Dijon and Bordeaux. 15°C in Rouen, Rennes, Orléans and Limoges. It will be 18°C in Marseille, Toulouse and Montélimar. The maximum is expected in Ajaccio with 20°C.
For Easter Monday, April 1, the weekend trend will continue. The Weather Channel indicates that the weather is still “unstable across almost the entire country”. This Monday promises to be rather stormy with disruptions expected in Brittany, La Rochelle, Limoges and Biarritz up to Nice and Marseille via Aurillac and Montpellier. Temperatures this Monday will be between 13°C as in Brest and 17°C in Ajaccio, Marseille and Strasbourg.
