UEFA announced a series of decisions made by its Disciplinary Committee in relation to incidents that occurred in some of the last matches in its competitions. According to the document, the second legs of the Champions League and Europa League quarterfinals have not yet been judged. That is to say, altercations such as those of the Eintracht fans in Barcelona or those of the Atlético players in the abrupt end against City at the Wanda are left out.
Of course, everything related to the round of 16 is punished and there comes an issue that especially bothered Atlético. The rain of objects and beer that Diego Pablo Simeone received at the end of the match against United at Old Trafford is typified as an “object throwing incident” and, according to article 16 (2) (a), carries a fine of 10,000 euros. A very low sum, but it is in relation to what is considered in these cases.
Other clubs that are fined are Galatasaray and Eintrecht, precisely for their home games against Barçawhich is sanctioned with two years of partial closure of one of its stands, in the case of the Turks, and 75,000 euros, in the case of the Germans, for the use of firecrackers during the crash.
