Shoes and clothes from the fashion house Balenciaga are thrown, destroyed and burned and everything is filmed and posted for the whole world to see.
In recent days, social media has been completely flooded with anger directed at the fashion house and also its top designers. The reason is the luxury brand’s heavily criticized advertising campaign in which children are models in an environment with cute teddy bears together with props with sexual allusions to bondage and sadomasochism as well as empty wine glasses and beer cans.
Another advertising image in the campaign also shows a document from a child pornography target visible under a bag.
Harsh criticism of the superstar
Balenciaga’s front model, the reality profile Kim Kardashian, also received sharp criticism for delaying to speak out. It wasn’t until several days later that she finally tweeted and explains the delay by saying that she wanted to speak with the fashion house’s manager first.
“No attempt to normalize child abuse belongs in our society. Period.” Kardashian wrote.
After the storm of criticism, the fashion company quickly shut down its accounts on both Twitter and Instagram and eventually published a post in which they admit that they made a mistake and take all responsibility for what happened.
