Cameron Norrie apologized for his behavior at the Auckland ATP tournament.

British player Cameron Norrie threw his racket in frustration during his Auckland ATP tournament match against the Argentine Facundo Diaz Acosta against. The bat flew into the stands and hit a female spectator.
The bat throw occurred when Norrie had hit the ball into the net and the opponent had received the match ball.
The head referee of the match made sure that the woman was fine. After that, he gave Norrie a warning, but did not disqualify him from the match. Diaz Acosta won the match moments later 6–2, 6–3.
– It was not intended to do so, and it is not my way to do so. I quickly apologized. I’m not happy with how I behaved, Norrie said.
– The spectator laughed and said he was perfectly fine, he added.
At his best, Norrie was eighth in the world rankings. He is currently ranked 48th.
Similar frustrations have seen harsher punishments. Novak Djokovic the ball hit the linesman at the 2020 US Open. Djokovic was banned from the entire tournament.
