The race between Liverpool and Manchester City for the English Premier League title is fierce. The two top teams in the league both won on Sunday, but only after a battle.

Liverpool was strengthened by the away team, Chelsea, who had lost their last six Premier League games, and left the Anfield Road stadium with a 1-2 defeat. Liverpool’s goals came in the first half Mohamed Salah from the penalty kick and in the second half Curtis Jones.

Salah’s goal was scored by Jones, who was knocked down in the penalty area by Chelsea’s topper Levi Colwill. Salah, on the other hand, passed Jones’ 2-1 hit.

At the beginning of the second half, Chelsea was leveled by the Senegalese striker by Nicolas Jackson with a goal from the offside boundary. Liverpool’s Jones scored the winning goal just under three minutes after Jackson’s strike.

Liverpool leads the Premier League by one point to Manchester City, who beat Wolverhampton 2-1 earlier on Sunday. Chelsea is sixth in the league.
