In Örebro, people have started gathering around memory places. Assembly homes are also open and children and young people will be offered support in school.
According to psychotherapist Björn Tingberg, this is important for survivors and society to move on after the mass shooting.
– There is something that is very healing in doing things together in this difficult moment. Not to fire up the emotions together but calm to the systems instead, he says.
“Psychological first aid”
Tingberg addresses the concept of “psychological first aid”, which is about creating security, community and faith in the future together.
– All people can do that, says the psychotherapist.
How it will go for the survivors will have the time the future, says Tingberg.
– Some of these people who have been involved and survived today will need qualified and advanced help, but we do not yet know that.
– Some become outgoing with a concern that sits on the body. Others will turn inward and ponder – they are in equal need of help and we must find them and not think that it is quiet.
