The psychologist’s tip: How to deal with depression in care

Depression during care is a so-called seasonal depression. This means that the symptoms come at the same time every year.

Torbjörn Åkerstedt, professor emeritus at the Stress Research Institute, has previously told SVT that research shows that 15 percent of the population in Sweden feel down in the spring.

According to David Waskuri, one must have had recurring symptoms for at least two years in order for it to be counted as nursing depression. They should also last for at least two weeks.

– If you think that everything feels boring, feel down, are tired and don’t appreciate things that you usually do, it could be a case of depression, he says.
