The prosecutor wants to see life imprisonment for sword murder in Arvika – the defense calls for imprisonment for murder

On Tuesday, during the last day of negotiations, the district court reviewed the forensic psychiatric examination carried out by the man. According to it, he did not suffer from any serious mental disorder at the time of the crime, and thus he can be sentenced to prison.

Prosecutor Barbro Brännlund kept herself brief during her closing argument. She believes that the man should be sentenced to life in prison, because he showed particular recklessness when the act was committed against a close person, in their shared home and in front of their shared children.

“Provocation”

The defense, which is investigating the course of events, believes that the deed was caused by negligence and that the man should be sentenced for murder.

If the man is sentenced to prison, they believe that the penalty should not be life because he did not intend to kill the woman and that the incident was caused by a “provocation” from her.

– If my client is sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, I will advise him to appeal, says defense lawyer Stefan Liliebäck.

The verdict will be announced on Wednesday.
