A man in his 60s has been arrested, suspected of having shot a woman on a tram in Gothenburg. Prosecutor Niklas Högdén now believes that the shooting was probably an accident.
– There is nothing at the moment to suggest that it was intentional, he says to TV4 Nyheterna.
The woman was taken by ambulance to hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach and was initially awake and able to speak. The situation is serious but stable, according to Fanny Edstam, press communicator at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
What is behind it is still unclear, but according to the police there is no information that the woman and the man know each other. When the man was arrested and detained, he was initially suspected of, among other things, attempted murder. Now the suspicions relate to aggravated weapons offenses and aggravated assault causing bodily harm.
