Today was the last trial day in the Iranian court for the Swede accused of being a spy, Johan Floderus.
The prosecutor is calling for the death penalty, reports AFP.
33-year-old EU diplomat Johan Floderus is accused of spying for Israel and, among other things, of “spreading corruption in the world”. Floderus was arrested while on vacation in April 2022 and has been held since then.
“Given the seriousness of the incident and the negative effects of the accused’s actions, I demand the maximum sentence,” Iranian media Mizan reports the prosecutor as saying.
According to Iranian Mizan, no date has been set for when a verdict will be announced.
