The gang members call themselves friends – but shoot each other to death. Chamber prosecutor Lisa has followed the criminal organizations and seen a world where words and human life do not have a very high value.
So far this year, 62 people have died in gang shootings in Sweden. One who has followed the development closely is the Chamber Prosecutor Lisa dos Santos, who during her professional life has seen a development where violence has been normalized and a culture of silence that makes crimes difficult to solve. In her book “Alskade bror” she tells, among other things, about the language of the gang members, and what the expressions mean.
“Beloved brother, I follow you into death” expresses closeness, but to me it is a death sentence. The brotherhood is a death sentence, says Lisa dos Santos in Nyhetsmorgen.
