At Älvbrinken’s school in the urban area of Vindeln in Västerbotten, a game in which students push each other out into the road when a car approaches has spread. Something like The Västerbottens-Kuriren first reported on.
Richard Grad, principal of the school, found out about the deadly game after a parent raised the alarm.
– It is terrible. It has gone off the rails, says a parent to VK.
Dangerous game among students
However, it is unclear how the students at the school started playing the game on their way to and from school, where they got inspiration from and whether it could be a trend on social media.
– We don’t know how the game came about, says the principal to TV4 Nyheterna.
Have you noticed the children playing similar dangerous games before?
– Not of this caliber.
“Important to warn”
The principal has gone out and warned guardians of students at the school where he urges them to talk to their children about the risks of the game.
– It was important to warn in order to remove the game as quickly as possible. Together with the guardians, we have succeeded in this. The goal was for it to end before it spread to other schools, says principal Richard Grad.
– You get worried about the children, you do. It’s life-threatening, says one parent.
The headmaster: Given the desired effect
The school has also raised the problem with the students and discussed it in the classrooms.
– In a pedagogical way, we have presented the risks and consequences of this game at school. The school cannot know how individual guardians handle it with their children.
– We see that it has had the desired effect.
