The price of petrol fell on Thursday to the lowest level since January. Now experts predict that the price may continue to fall during the summer.
– It looks positive for ordinary consumers, we can probably see slightly weaker prices during the holidays, says Samuel Ciszuk, energy analyst, ELS Analysis.
World prices on the crude oil market have fallen sharply this week – and both diesel and petrol prices have been hanging on. A liter of 95-octane petrol costs SEK 19.29 per litre, at manned stations, and diesel has fallen to SEK 20.76 per litre.
This may mean that prices this summer may be significantly lower than normal, according to energy analyst Samuel Ciszuk.
May drop further
– Now the market actually looks a bit weaker, at the same time we are entering a season that normally has high demand, especially in North America where people drive a lot.
According to Ciszuk, summer prices may be SEK 1.50 cheaper than today’s prices.
– It looks positive for ordinary consumers, we can probably see slightly weaker prices during the holidays. 50 öre – 1.50 kroner cheaper is not impossible, he says.
